Pizza makes a great meal because
it’s so fun to eat—and it’s
even more fun to make at home!
Get creative with your toppings-
—pineapple pizza anyone?
Makes 1 large or 6 mini pizzas.
Prep time: 1 hr.
Bake time: 20 min.
INGREDIENTS:
2-3 c flour
1 package of dry active yeast
2 tbs sugar
1 c warm tap water
1 tbs olive oil
TOPPINGS:
1 c pizza sauce
1?2 c black or green olives
1 c pepperoni
2 c grated mozzarella cheese
1 white onion, thinly sliced
1. Ask an ADULT to preheat oven to 375 F.
2. In a large mixing bowl, place yeast and add warm water. Stir until
yeast dissolves.
3. Add sugar and oil and stir.
4. Slowly add 1 cup of flour and stir with wooden spoon. Add another
cup of flour
a little at a time.
5. Using both hands, form into large dough ball. Place dough on
lightly floured surface.
Knead, adding any extra flour, if necessary. Let dough rest in bowl
covered with dish
cloth for 25-30 minutes.
6. Shape dough into large pizza or 6 mini pizzas.
7. Add toppings:
1. First add pizza sauce and spread evenly.
2. Add grated mozzarella cheese.
3. Then add any extra toppings.
8. Ask an ADULT to place on baking sheet and bake on center rack for
15 – 20 minutes.
9. Ask an ADULT to remove baking sheet with oven mitt.
10. Ask an ADULT to remove pizza or mini pizzas from baking sheet
with a spatula and serve.
11. For the large pizza, ask an ADULT to use pizza cutter to cut into
slices.
